Hey guys,
I just came from my favorite news blog. You are going to be really happy after hearing this, or NOT. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) had decided to stop filing lawsuits against illegal music downloaders. However, they (RIAA) turned our Internet Service Provider (ISP) into music-downloading police. Whenever we download a song illegally, the RIAA will report our IP address to our ISP, then our ISP will notice us about our copyright infringement activities. If we still do not adhere to the notice, the ISP will shut our internet connection down.
In my opinion, I think this is worse. Because, sending notices is easier than battling in court, for the RIAA. Therefore, our odds are higher for getting notices instead of chances of getting into lawsuits, which is 1 in approximately 10800 people (from my English 3 class research).
