Spring ‘09

Hello there. Here I am again having lunch and blogging. What am I having? Well, I’m having rice with fried eggs, and instant glass noodle soup (yes it’s not nutritional). I couldn’t find time for a fancy lunch, and I prefer radiated and packaged food to fast food.

Sorry that I don’t blog very often nowadays because I’m trying to cut down my dependence on technology; virtual things (like blogging, online social networking) and electronic gadgets (iPhone, PC, music player). These technologies, the hyperreal phenomenon , just get us busier. I own an iPhone, and I find myself reading tech news several times during the day on-the-go instead of one sitting in front of my computer at night, so does checking email and playing games. The more things I own the more time I’ll spend on those, and the less time I got to realize my full potential.

I’m not trying to convince you guys to stop buying stuffs or whatever. Technology is supposed to save us time and make our lives easier. It’s not, however. Life is just pathetic with all those technologies.

Anyway, Spring Break was great. I got to spend time away from LA. I personally don’t like living in LA. The school and city life is depressing me.

Alright new quarter is here, Spring 2009. I’m actually taking one class with my sister, Business Law.First, I thought it would be fun, but then the instructor said “every Tuesday you come into this class, you should (virtually) put on your attorney hat.” Then, I was like: “wth! What am I getting myself into?”

I’m gonna end this post here, otherwise I’ll be contradicting the point I made earlier.

Good luck.

Here comes dead week

Hello there. I’ve been busy lately, and still be for the coming final weeks.

Recently I started to realize that I must have goals to keep me motivated, both long-term and especially short-term goals. I spent some times figuring out what my long and short-erm goals are. One of my long-term goals is going to a quality graduate school. And, short-term goals are a-day-long commitments; gotta finish this chunk of homework and that chunk of project.

And yeah, I’ve been more productive lately.

And my dream graduate university is University of Illinois, Urbana – Champaign. I guess none of you have heard of it? Right? Me too, well until several days ago.

OK. Why is it my dream university? Despite it ranks fifth in the world for Computer Science Graduate Program, its Siebel Center, the Computer Science building, is HOT (not the inside temperature, but in term of a girl’s hotness). The building just turned me on (now literally); it is said to be the most technologically advanced Computer Science building in the world. Here’s some pictures:

One problem: It snows!!

So, I’m planning to apply for the school’s Summer Research Opportunity Program next year inasmuch as it’ll increase my chance of getting in.

Besides this school, I will apply to UC San Diego, UCLA, Caltech, and USC, and one safe-bet school (maybe CalState Long Beach?). I’m applying for a joint program – Master of Computer Science and MBA. Any of the school offers me a joint program, I’m off to that school. My longest-term goal is to be a Chief Information Officer in the future, even for one week. and CIO needs 10-year of experience in both business and technology fields, and an MBA.

Talking about CIO, at least I will be the CIO of TOKMOO project when it goes public. HAHAHA. Me, Visal the CTO-to-be, and Seth toch the CFO-to-be are currently working on this project – a project which aims, at least, to stop college students from sending files to their own email so that they can retrieve it later.

Anyway, please drop by the TOKMOO project website (a piece of work from my productive days) to support us. We need support from friends. :D

Seriously you must drop by the project website.
